| I would like to begin by thanking you for taking the time to view my art, and I hope you have enjoyed viewing it as much as I have enjoyed creating it. A little about me: I began my journey into photography in 2004 after careers in semi-conductor sales, law enforcement, and real estate investing, with a desire to develop a creative talent. I have been a naturist since my late 20s, and I knew that I wanted to focus on the human form in my pursuit of said creativity. Since I am a mediocre draftsman, and had not even dipped my toes in the vast pool of painting, I chose photography as the vehicle which would propel my visions into the realm of reality. I was self taught, using digital cameras, until Jan 2010, when I formalized my photographic education at Boston University's Center for Digital Imaging Arts' photography program at the Georgetown (DC) campus, which I completed in September 2010. In the past year, I also began photographing my subjects using a Lubitel 166+ medium format film camera. I generally do very little to my images post capture, preferring to attempt to get things right in-camera. Though I have begun working with film, I continue to do all my post-production digitally. As you can see from my photographs, I prefer working in nature over the studio, as I believe that the human form is the pinnacle of nature's evolution, that the human body is perfectly natural and beautiful, and that it deserves to be seen in that context. I see recurring themes in my work that echo the Judeo-Christian story of the Garden of Eden, as well as the Greek and Roman mythologies, which have all been subjects of numerous painters and artists. In that sense, much of my work has a commonality with the past traditions of nude art. In addition to believing that the human form is beautiful and natural, I also believe that the sexual side of humanity is also beautiful and natural and I am building a body of work that explores the sensual side of my subjects. My photographs have been exhibited at the Beck Gallery in Tampa, at the Roho Photo Gallery in Cincinnati, and I exhibited a portfolio in Focus photography magazine issue #18. My photographs have also been featured in Photoworkshop.com's print ads and in their book entitled "Photos That Inspire" (p.252,257.) I recently self-published my first collection of fine art nude photography titled "after Eve in the Garden: Nude in Nature". I am working on my next compilation. I am available for both private and commercial commissions. Tyler |
